ceilidh
Ceilidh ... What’s that?? A ceilidh (say “KAY LEE”), or ceili to the Irish, is a social gathering – a dance party! – common throughout Scotland and Ireland.
Our Family Ceilidh Class gets kids and grown-ups dancing together to the sound of Irish flutes and fiddles or the skirl of the bagpipes. Traditional dances that are easy to learn even for the youngest dancers include circles and sets, reels, polkas, and more ... dances with intriguing names like “Marmalade Sandwich” and “The Flying Scotsman”. Our home class takes place on a random basis, Saturday afternoon at Fierce Fitness; dates vary, but will be posted so you can mark your calendar and join us.
We also do one-time classes and pop-up ceilidhs (Celtic kids' crafts available too!) at schools, churches, family celebrations, and community happenings – just ask!
"I've had the pleasure of doing Celtic Festivals with Pat over the years, and watching her preparation and dedication to her craft - and the way the kids respond to her - is a joy to see."
- Don Graham, musician/singer/songwriter
"Thank you for bringing the fun and music to our family party. The birthday boys had a great time, and Dad couldn't believe he was doing the Gay Gordons after all these years!"
- Lynda Moss-Lowry
